Two people. A lot of teddies. One big mission. 🧸🌿

We’re a mother-and-daughter who believe forgotten things deserve a second chance.

It all started when we were working together in end-of-tenancy property cleaning. Part of our job was clearing out everything that had been left behind — and sadly, so much of it was simply thrown into skips or rubbish sacks, destined for landfill.

But when it came to the soft toys, we just couldn’t do it.

There was something about them — abandoned, worn and sometimes a little worse for wear, but still full of character and charm — that made us bring them home instead.

​

We began hand-washing and carefully grooming each one, giving them a little love and attention before keeping them ourselves or finding them new homes as gifts. Before long, people started donating their own forgotten teddies to us, and our little collection began to grow.

Since then, our sanctuary has grown to include teddies found in all sorts of places — from the last ones left behind at boot sales to those that might otherwise have been thrown away.

That’s when Soft Toy Sanctuary was born. 🧸

As vegans, caring about animals and finding kinder, more sustainable ways to live has always been close to our hearts. Soft Toy Sanctuary grew from that same belief — that things which have been forgotten or discarded still deserve care, compassion and a second chance.

Today, our mission is simple: to rescue soft toys from being thrown away, give them the love and care they deserve, and help them find someone new to love. 

 

Because sometimes, a teddy is more than a teddy. They can hold memories, bring a little comfort, and become a familiar friend through different chapters of our lives. That’s why we believe every one deserves the chance to be loved again.
